Standard Description

The EN ISO 20345:2011 standard specifies requirements for safety footwear. The protective toe cap must withstand an impact energy of 200 J and a compression force of 15 kN. MILWAUKEE features a composite safety toe cap.

The S3 classification includes toe protection, antistatic properties, heel energy absorption and penetration protection. It also requires a cleated outsole and resistance to water penetration and absorption in the upper. The Kevlar midsole provides penetration protection.

The SRC marking combines SRA and SRB slip-resistance tests under EN ISO 20345:2011. SRA refers to testing on ceramic tiles with a detergent solution. SRB refers to testing on a steel surface with glycerol.

Compliance with EN ISO 61340-5-1:2016 supports the use of this footwear in appropriately designed electrostatic discharge protection systems. ESD properties help dissipate electrostatic charge in a controlled manner. They do not provide electrical insulation against hazardous voltage.

The water-repellent upper reduces water penetration and absorption. However, this does not mean the entire shoe is waterproof. The model is not intended for prolonged exposure to water or immersion.
