The EN ISO 20345:2011 standard specifies requirements for safety footwear. The protective toe cap must withstand an impact energy of 200 J and a compression force of 15 kN. COVENTRY is equipped with a steel safety toe cap.

The S1 classification includes basic safety requirements, antistatic properties and heel energy absorption. It also includes a closed heel area. The S1 category does not guarantee penetration protection, a water-resistant upper or waterproof properties.

The HRO designation indicates outsole resistance to contact heat. The test is performed at 300 °C for a prescribed period. This does not mean the footwear is suitable for continuous exposure to temperatures of 300 °C.

The SRC designation means the footwear has passed both SRA and SRB slip-resistance tests. These include ceramic tiles with detergent and steel flooring with glycerol. The outsole is additionally fuel-oil resistant, as specified by the manufacturer.
