Standard Description

The EN ISO 20345:2011 standard specifies requirements for safety footwear. The protective toe cap must withstand an impact energy of 200 J and a compression force of 15 kN. KORFU is equipped with a composite safety toe cap.

The S3 classification includes basic safety requirements, antistatic properties and heel energy absorption. It also includes penetration protection, a water-resistant upper and a cleated outsole. Water resistance limits water absorption but does not guarantee that the entire shoe is waterproof.

The SRC designation means the footwear has passed both SRA and SRB slip-resistance tests. These include ceramic tiles with detergent and steel flooring with glycerol. The outsole is additionally fuel-oil resistant, as specified by the manufacturer.

Compliance with EN ISO 61340-5-1:2016 relates to electrostatic discharge control in ESD working environments. ESD footwear helps dissipate electrostatic charge as part of an appropriately controlled ESD system. It does not provide electrical insulation for working on live electrical equipment.
