Standard Description

The EN ISO 20345:2022 standard specifies requirements for safety footwear. The protective toe cap must withstand an impact energy of 200 J and a compression force of 15 kN. GOTEBORG features a steel safety toe cap.

The S3 classification includes toe protection, antistatic properties, heel energy absorption and penetration protection. It also requires a cleated outsole and resistance to water penetration and absorption in the upper. The steel midsole provides penetration protection.

The FO marking confirms outsole resistance to fuel oil.

The SR marking indicates additional slip resistance under EN ISO 20345:2022. This involves testing on ceramic tiles with glycerol. SR belongs to the newer marking system and is not identical to the previous SRC marking.

The water-repellent leather reduces water penetration and absorption. However, this does not mean the entire shoe is waterproof. Footwear with an appropriate waterproof marking is required for prolonged exposure to water.

Antistatic properties allow electrostatic charge to dissipate under specified conditions. They do not provide electrical insulation against hazardous voltage.
