The EN ISO 20345:2011 standard specifies requirements for safety footwear. The protective toe cap must withstand an impact energy of 200 J and a compression force of 15 kN. TAMPERE is equipped with a composite safety toe cap.

The S3 classification includes basic safety requirements, a closed heel area, antistatic properties and heel energy absorption. It also includes penetration resistance and requirements for water penetration and absorption through the upper. TAMPERE uses a Kevlar midsole for penetration protection.

The hydrophobic upper increases resistance to water penetration and absorption. However, the S3 classification alone does not mean that the entire shoe is fully waterproof.

The SRC rating means the footwear passed both SRA and SRB slip-resistance tests. These tests use ceramic tiles with detergent and steel surfaces with glycerol. According to the manufacturer, the PU/PU outsole is also antistatic and fuel-oil resistant.
